# Terrastate

> Terrastate is a free, Planetarion-style grand strategy game that runs in the web browser. You lead one nation against 300 AI nations on a world map, form alliances and fight for the Nexus, the one region that decides the season. No account, no download, no ads, no pay-to-win. Romaterra is the same game set in the age of Rome. Made by Wim Kamphorst, a hobby developer from the Netherlands.

Current version: 3.0 (1 October 2026). The game is updated regularly. Language: English. Platforms: any modern browser on desktop or phone; installable and playable offline.

## Good to know

- Turn-based, or auto-play at 1x, 5x or 20x. Seasons: Quick (200 turns), Standard (400) or Epic (840). Difficulty: Recruit, Veteran or Warlord. Six campaign scenarios.
- Fair AI: computer nations pay exactly what the player pays and only know what they have scouted.
- Season 0: the single-player game is the training ground for the live multiplayer world. The live world opens when 100 commanders have joined the waitlist on Discord (https://discord.gg/PZGPKuzPCb). Season 0 players are marked as Founding Commanders.
