A world at war. Three capitals. Every tick a decision.
Lead one nation in a 1940s world at war against 300 AI nations. Build up your industry, raise divisions and bombers, find allies, and take 2 of the 3 Capital Sectors before anyone else can hold them. Free, no account, no download.
Ironfront stays a tick-based game. But between two ticks you prepare an attack, or you defend your own ground and your alliance.
A battle lasts three ticks. Each tick both sides give an order, and the side that guesses right gets +25% that tick. Hold the line is the safe choice: no edge, no risk.
Trenches are ready in 1 tick, a minefield in 2, a bunker in 3. Only where an enemy is coming, and they cost treasury. Start too late and they are not ready.
An incoming army shows as radio traffic with a size estimate. Better radar narrows it, a successful scan shows the real army. A feint looks three times bigger on weaker radar and turns back before it lands.
Allied help that is in place when the battle starts counts in full, later help counts half. The Front board shows your alliance's fronts, soonest first, and who is on the way.
Not one prize but three. Hold two at once with a GHQ Bunker for 12 ticks, alone or as one alliance. Or hold one the longest in the Last Battle.
The computer nations give orders, dig in and send feints by the same rules, pay the same costs and see no more than their radar shows.
beats Assault, loses to Barrage
beats Barrage, loses to Flank
beats Flank, loses to Assault
The attacker chooses Assault, Barrage or Flank. With radar or recon you see what the other side did last tick, never what they will do next.

Yes. Ironfront is completely free: no payments, no ads, no account and no download. It is a non-commercial hobby project by Wim Kamphorst from the Netherlands.
No. Ironfront is set in a 1940s style world at war, but the nations, leaders and flags are invented and generated by the game. It does not retell the history of the Second World War.
Hold 2 of the 3 Capital Sectors at once with a GHQ Bunker for 12 ticks, alone or as one alliance. If nobody manages that, the Last Battle decides: whoever holds a Capital Sector the longest wins the season.
The season, alliances and fair AI are the same. Ironfront adds its own battle layer: battle orders every tick, field works on a threatened region, radio traffic with size estimates and feints, and allied help that counts in full only when it is there in time. And it has three prizes instead of one.
Yes. Ironfront runs in any modern browser on phone and desktop, with a big END TURN button under your thumb on phones. You can install it as an app and play offline.
Not yet. What you play now is Season 0: single-player against 300 AI nations. The live world opens when 100 commanders have joined the waitlist on the Terrastate Discord.
Ironfront is a tick-based war game in the browser, in the tradition of Planetarion, with a 1940s theme. Players who like WW2 strategy in the browser, such as Call of War, or grand strategy such as Hearts of Iron, will recognise the fronts, the logistics and the alliances. The difference: you play against hundreds of AI nations, at your own pace.
